Diary - Tuesday 6th December 2016

Not bad for a couple of septuagenarians.

We woke to the sound of the heating system. It didn't seem to like what was being asked of it and kept turning itself off. I called British Gas and they said they would come on Thursday. It would have to be Thursday.

I processed another new listener and then prepared media players for one of the Rehabilitation Officers for the Blind. It helps me a lot if they have a supply and can furnish new listeners with the machine and instructions. That means I don't have to  go myself.

I updated the Talking News records, fixed the front door bell because it wouldn't stop ringing, completed the end-of-term report for Morrisons (they gave us £5000 and want to know what we did with it) and I wrote another begging letter.

John and Joy came and Pauline had cooked a really lovely salmon fillets meal. It was a lovely lunch and a convivial afternoon.

Next it was Barton Under Needwood Lions. There were only twelve of us there, but President David Pomroy used the meeting to talk only about the upcoming Christmas Social for OAPS in Barton, and then he issued cheques and Certificates of Appreciation to several people, but mostly the Williams family. They have been incredible supporters of Barton Lions all year.
